 NOTES
 in 2003, adidas
 brought out leather
 versions of the
 ZX 9000.
The adidas ZX 8000 and ZX 9000 were both produced in 1988 and were the first in a series of adidas shoes to use the company’s Torsion system, designed specifically to support the midfoot and allow movement. Not only does this system help to improve running technique, but it also reduces the volume of midsole material in the midfoot area, resulting in a lighter shoe. It is visible on the bottom of the outsole and can even be touched.
The ZX 8000 and ZX 9000 were stunning shoes with head-turning colourways, The later ZX models were popular with the London ragga music scene, and were often worn with jeans or trousers pin-roiled up at the ends. Both the ZX 8000 and the ZX 9000 were reissued in 2003.
