  The Forest Hills tennis shoe was produced in many different styles during the 1970s and 1980s. The first editions had a protective leather toe cap, which was similar to the half shells on the adidas Superstar. The version we recognize today as Forest Hills was adopted by British soccer fans during the 1980s.
    There are many urban myths surrounding who wore the first Forest Hills, where they were worn, which version had a yellow sole, and so on. This has helped to increase the shoe’s status, cultural-historical standing and fan base. The model was reissued in 2002.
